Direction
You came in to help. Halfway through, you realize you're not helping—you're explaining yourself. The tactic shifts from cooperative to defensive, but keep it controlled. You're not guilty, you're trapped.
Script
That's me, yeah. I already told the officer at the scene—I saw the whole thing. The sedan ran the red light.
DETECTIVEAnd you didn't leave until after the ambulance arrived?
No. I stayed. I gave my information to the officer. I'm not sure what else you need from me.
DETECTIVEThe driver of the sedan says you were talking to them right before the crash. Is that true?
(beat)
I don't—no. I wasn't talking to anyone. I was crossing the street.
Why would they say that? I don't even know them.
Unless you think I do. Is that what this is?
