The Elevator Pitch
Given circumstances
- Character
- Intern
- Setting
- Office elevator, doors closed, floor numbers climbing, your badge clipped to your pocket.
- The moment before
- You got in on the ground floor with your coffee. They got in on the second floor. You glanced over and recognized their face from the website photo. They just asked what department you're in.
- Scene partner
- The CEO of the company, standing beside you holding a briefcase
Direction
This is your one shot and you're panicking. Excitement and terror at the same time. Try to sound casual and fail completely—that's the comedy.
Script
CEOSo what do you do here?
Marketing. Well, marketing adjacent. I'm an intern. But I've been working on this campaign idea—actually, it's perfect that you're here because I was going to email you but this is better.
We should rebrand the entire consumer division. Full refresh. New logo, new tagline, new color palette. I mocked up some samples and the focus group data is really promising.
CEOWhat focus group?
My roommates. But they were very honest.
I have a folder. It's on my desk. I can run and get it right now if you just—which floor are you getting off on?
